3rd Annual Wyland Galleries Waikiki Beach Walk High School Art Scholarship

The theme of this year’s Scholarship is Malama Honua: to care for our Island Earth. The theme should challenge students to encompass our responsibility as the caretakers for our beautiful oceans and Earth. Two student winners will be chosen and each will be awarded a $1,500 scholarship in May/June 2017 The winning art will be framed and displayed in Wyland Galleries Beach Walk until it is donated to the U.S. VETS Homeless Shelter in Barber’s Point. The original art will be entered into the Shelter’s annual raffle or VETS signature work re-entry program, Veterans in Progress. Sponsored by: auction on in 2017/2018 and funds generated will be used to help support this program.


1) Contest is open to all students grade 9th -12th and ending High School in the state of Hawaii
a. Individual student entries only
b. Only one entry per individual

2) Art must incorporate the following:
a. Malama Honua Theme. Graphics can include ocean, landscape, Hawaiian flora and fauna
b. Art can be drawn/painted by hand or can be original photography

3) Art can be submitted on paper, card stock, or photo paper not to exceed 8 1/2 x 11 inches. Include student’s name and contact information (email, phone number, and mailing address) taped to or written on back of entry.

4) Submittal Deadline is Earth Day: April 22, 2017
